Founder Suzanne Delzio

After 15 years as a copywriter writing search-optimized blog posts, web pages, social posts, and emails for healthcare software companies, I couldn't resist a pull to work with animals again.

Early in my career, I wrote several pet care books with a veterinarian and a dog trainer. My book So Your Dog’s Not Lassie: Tips for Training the Independent Dog and Difficult Breeds written with Bulldog trainer extraordinaire Betty Fisher won the San Diego Book Award in the How-to category. The book has a 4.3 / 5 star rating from 47 Amazon customers and a 3.7 / 4 rating on Goodreads.

My love for animals began in my childhood on a farm where I raised dogs, cats, sheep, cows, horses, and chickens. I was a long-time 4-H member and competed with sheep.

I started my transition by becoming an event manager with Amazing Dogs Rescue. Every other Saturday, I love helping hopeful pet parents meet their ideal fur babies at the San Marcos PetCo. It's meaningful and fun work.

I hire only pet sitters with a demonstrated love of animals and a willingness to study training, behavior, and pet sitter best practices.

Because Experience Matters

My pet sitters and I bring certified pet care skills to every walk and visit, including CPR, medication administration, and rattlesnake avoidance. We are certified by Pet Sitters International, and have taken pet first aid and CPR training. We also constantly add to our knowledge and skills with training (see recent dog rattlesnake training blog post), webinars, course, and books.
